Painting is its own dimension, its own world. Painting is revelation in the here and now. The main substance of painting is color, light and form and painting creates experiences analogous to how cooking and eating food creates our mind and our body. The way into painting is through the eyes. The way of cooking is through the tastebuds and belly. The activity of painting and paintings themselves are food for the eyes; viewing them does not demand too much attention, but is always there as another dimension, another world, waiting patiently to teach in a different time, revealing something new, even when the painting seems still and static. In stillness the mind can move through it and be moved by it.
